Has anyone used the Midland 75-822 handheld CB? I am looking for one but want a handheld. This one looks nice as it can attached to any external cb antennae. Which would be nice for long trips or offroading.

I don't know if I've seen anyone review it here, I've thought about getting it myself for similar reasons. Sub'd for reviews.

Yes...

I've been using one for the past 4 years or so in 3 different vehicles (04 Taco, 99 T4R and my current 07 T4R.

Works great. I use an external mag-mount antenna, seems to work OK on the trail but I eventually want to go to something better, either a hood lip mount or a tailgate hatch mount.

The WB feature is nice, too. I put a loop of 550 cord on the belt clip and hang it from the mirror when I'm on the road. On the trail it sits in my lap.

I've never used it as a hand-held, so I can't evaluate that.

Sounds perfect. Was more interested in keeping it in the car. Won't use it much as a hand held but I like the smaller feature and adapting to external antennae. Ill probably go with it.
