CBI Front Bumper Install

A couple of month ago I called CBI to order a front bumper. Nathan said that CBI was in the process of making some changes to the design of the bumper. He asked if I wanted to order the old design, or wait a couple of months and wait for the new design. I decided to wait and this is the bumper I received :bluejump:

The bumper install was very straight forward. The bumper included 2 sets of brackets (one large set, one small set), and 12 bolts, washers, and 10 flange nuts.

First I removed the stock bumper using the instructions here:

Next I removed the center support to fit a winch.

Install the large frame to bumper bracket, but do not tighten it down. You will need to keep it a bit loose to make adjustments/fit.

I first centered the bumper and tightened down the nuts that held the bracket to the frame. Then, I adjusted the height to get the bumper around 1/2 inch from the fenders and headlights.

I then installed the two small support brackets (pic shows how the small brackets go on).

And thats it!! The overall time to remove the factory bumper and install the CBI bumper was around 4-5 hours. I did the removal myself, but had my brother help with the CBI bumper install.

Great write-up and beautiful bumper! The guys at CBI are great. I have the old design on mine and I have to say I think I'm a bit jealous, from your pics the new design looks a bit cleaner than mine. Enjoy!

Mmmm....nice bumper! I've been hunting for a good one and this one seems beefy and streamlined without being too giant.

Do you know what it weighs?

What do you have for suspension to handle that?

Thats what I want , with a single hoop in the center. Looks nice, how long did it take to get it after ordering ?

2+ months, but I ordered the bumper before they were finished with the design. I was told the bumper would take some time before I would get it, and was also kept informed of the progress. All the other products (skids, tire carrier) I have ordered from them have been delivered within a month.

how much did they charge you for the bumper? their site doesnt show a price...

Contact CBI. Their pricing was broken down with options.
