I have a 2006 V8 4Runner. The CEL came on last week with code P0031, which is Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low, Bank 1 Sensor 1. I assumed this meant the O2 sensor needed to be replaced (had tried tightening gas cap, etc), but took it to the dealer to be sure.
The tech said that the B1S1 A/F Sensor needs to be replaced, not the O2 sensor. Would there be a different code that would alert me that the AF sensor needed to be replaced? They are quoting $459 to replace it and I want to make sure it's legitimate.
