Ok, out of nowhere my check engine light popped up on my 2000 4Runner. Initially I suspected the Gas gap. But that was 4 tanks of gas ago...and it's still on.
Vehicles specs:
-2000
-72,000 miles
-SR5 V-6
-No perceived change in performance or fuel economy. Just the damned annoying light. The 2 Autozones I've tried say that they don't offer the free code checks. So please give me the most common causes that you guys have experienced or read about. 02 Sensors? Catalytic converters? This is my first Toyota (and my first "non-performance vehicle"). I am very mechanically inclined (built my own 10 Second street/Drag car, work on my own bike, and do all the suspension/motor work on my SVT Lightning...and I have diagnostic software/hardware for all of those....just not the 'Yota).
so if you could at least give me some places to start looking I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
