Center console dead panel mods

Thought the T4R people would like to have some ideas for their own trucks

The usb is just an extension from the plug inside the console so all it does is charge stuff

The head phone jack is just an extension for the stock aux option on the stock stereo

The knob controls the 8 " sub I retro. in the JBL system mod.
I took apart the JL audio bass remote and installed where the dead panel is.

Do you have a write up on your grill?
I've been looking for an easier way to do the satoshi mod and it looks like you figured it out! Looks awesome man!
Any insight would be much appreciated

Grill

No write up bro and if you have a 2005 or below I think it's a big pain in the....
to mod the grill...

I'm sure there is a write up out there for both 4th gen era T4Rs

I know the 2006-2009 grills are easier to mod

I have a few other ideas I plan on doing soon

Thanks for the comments...
I've showed a few other car people and they had very similar comments...
I hope it helps others come up with ideas to share too...

I am looking for an i-pod set up for the JBL system and I have yet to find one
I saw someone with a thread on this product

USA SPEC: Products

I'm going to check into these products soon...

I have a USA SPEC iPhone connector (non JBL). It works great. I love that I can still control everything from the steering wheel. Being able to charge the phone as well is also handy.

Although I wish it had Bluetooth for music and/or phone calls.

You should check the USA Spec website I think they came out with a BT module

good luck

Bass knob

Wow that's awesome, very creative. I may steal your JL Bass Knob idea, since I have the same one:fro:

For sure!!! I uploaded some more pics to help you. I busted out the model car paint I had laying around and painted the knob marker red (was black)
then painted the bezel black cause the metal color just looked like pooo....
hope the pics help good luck!

Apparently they do have one now, but it's kinda a replacement for the pa15. It would be nice to have it for phone calls, but not sure if it's worth spending another $125 on. Wonder how that compares to other BT options out there.

I have the USA Spec interface, like a lot of people on here, but I've lately been having problems with it. After about 3 years, it no longer charges my iPhone 4 (not sure if that has anything to do with ios updates or what) and the right output goes in and out. It could just be a connection, but I haven't had time to dig in behind the head unit to check.
Otherwise, it's been great. The sound is excellent (I used to have a tape adapter) and it's nice to be able to run my Sirius radio through it as well.
I wonder if anybody else has been having issues with theirs...

edit...
I just did some research on the BT model, and all the reviews trash the audio quality on it. Great for phone calls, really poor for audio.
