Center Console Repair/Patch

Just realized my knife pocket clip was taking chunks out of the side of my center console. Any way to patch it or at least make it less noticeable? Anyone done something similar?

Cover the outside of your truck with Brush marks and Dents, leave some mud on the interior and no one will ever notice.............

If it really bothers you, while a risk, I have seen a heat gun used on some plastics to get rid of the "white" look of the scratch however you risk causing other issues. Buy a new console? Rivet a SS plate there so you don't have to worry about it in the future?

There are ways to effectively lessen the marks left. I would recommend looking for instructions on how to do so. When an audio installer and mistakes do happen we would use a lighter or heat gun to slightly heat up the area and it could effectively be smoothed out making it less noticable.

Vinyl dye also helps, use q-tip and lightly dab it on and then wipe it off.

No one will ever know it's there but you, the first damage hurts so maybe it's a good thing it's in a spot only you can see?

If I wanted to cover that up I'd just use a sharpie but then I cut holes in my truck so you may want a cleaner option.

You need to get used to those marks. I have 10 and 12 year-old sons... And those off-blue-grey scuffs are all over the place in my 4Runner. Seems as though all the black plastic is the same polymer and wears the same. Heating it with a heat gun may likely bring the correct black color back as the plastic softens.
