Center diff lock stuck - something different.

Seems like sometimes the transfer case or transmission goes wonky after a blown rear diff? I will admit when I broke mine, it ground real hard when putting it into gear when I tried limping it up the trailer. Tried again and it went into gear just fine. :shrug:

After my rear grenaded itself and the driver’s CV exploded, my center diff did not want to unlock nor did the trans want to come out of 4Lo.
However, after everything was repaired, the center diff still locks and unlocks flawlessly and the trans switches from 4Hi to 4Lo (v8, no 2wd) effortlessly.

Back to normal. Ive done two trips out so far and had no issues with the transfer case or transmission. 4low, center diff, and 4hi and flipping easy.

Was there any busted parts in the old transfer case though, did you tear that apart?

Not yet, it's sitting in the garage still. Was hoping to tackle it after this week once vacation was done, but I broke my arm while we were out so it's gonna sit a few more weeks. Haha.

hahahahaha. slipped in death valley on the side of a trail. dislocated my elbow, chipped the bone when we popped it back in.

Wish it was a Danny Danny moment. We were going to help an AWD escape go over mengel pass and the sides were loose as hell. My foot slipped out from under me, put my arm out to stop the fall, but it was just the right angle and right pressure to dislocate it. Hurt like a sumbish until we popped it back in. Threw a splint on it, grabbed a beer and a Vicodin (I have a prescription for those that don't know me), went back to camp and finished off the night. Packed up in the morning and drove the 5 hours home to drop the kid off before heading to the hospital.

Thursday afternoon. Drove out Friday morning. So we still got a good couple days out. Didn't explore as much as we would have liked but it was still a nice relaxing vacation. I'll have a write-up as soon as I can use a computer easily again. Haha.
