Chandlerdooms Hardshell RTT, UPDATE 6/7

This GB needs more coverage, I can't believe I missed this. After like a week of dealing with China and shipping broker I finally got mine ordered. I would have purchased here if I literally hadn't just sent my money in this morning. Glad everyone's loving them; I was originally going for a Tepui Autana and realized the colossal headache that was going to turn into for short weekend trips.

Guys/Gals, I'll have detailed photos on the wedge style on my 4runner in a few weeks. I'll also be helping Chandlerdoom represent things on T4R, so if you can't get ahold of him, I'll try to answer any questions.

A few deets:
-Aprox 84L x 50W
-Uses two gas struts
-1 large window/entrance, 2 side windows/entrance
-The ceiling won't be a quilted finish like the popup, it'll be bare.
-I'm 6'1" and fit comfortably. Will be testing it in a few weeks to fit, me + my girlfriend + GF's friend, I'll report back lol.
-Will come with a telescoping ladder like the popup.

Anyone have the larger size? Any pics?

Trying to fit two medium people and a large dog that I would have to carry up the ladder.

No one has a larger model because it one hasn’t been ordered yet, manufacture states 54” wide. But because I never never received one I can’t say exactly how wide it is on the inside, outside, or anything else. If you are interested in one that makes 4 and only need one more to make the larger side happen

How they mount is consistent but unsure if the distance between the tracks stays the same, I would imagine the larger model has a little wider distance between the tracks but couldn't say for sure. [MENTION=50186]adio3x[/MENTION] Could answer how wide the tracks are and I can compare against my tent to check

I can get them as is no issue but I am trying to make them better so that takes a little time since I am nearly redesigning the entire awning from what it currently is. It might not work out to be this buy but a separate in the future, but I promise it will be worth the wait

I'd like the larger size, but not enough info to go on right now. If you here back from the fulfiller re: dimensions let me know.

Count me in for the regular size for now. I think the wedge would be hard to deal with a dog.

Sounds good. Yeah the size that I have is 137cm which is 53.9” so expect anywhere from 53-54 interior width as dimensions provided are not always 100%

Looking at roofnest their large model is showing a 55” width, the shell is the same so looking at their tent is probably your best bet on what to expect

Do you think the awning will work with previous gen of the tent?

I have a different RTT, but it's a hard shell as well, very similiar to these Chandlers. I hated having a moonroof on my 4runner until I had to install the RTT on the Echotechne roof rack. Without the moonroof I think it would've been impossible to access the front mounting bolts. The rear bolts for mounting the RTT can be accessed by removing the rear plate of the roof rack. If you don't have a moonroof, it will be hard if not impossible to get an RTT married to your roof rack.
