change.org-Steering Wheel Peeling

I'm taking another stab at fixing this and came across a change.org petition to get this fixed: Petition * Replace steering wheel for free * Change.org

I'm asking anyone who has had an issue with the steering wheel peeling to sign this petition. It takes minimal time and perhaps Toyota will take it a bit more seriously if more people come forward. Here are links to other forums that I've seen this pop up on:

Taken directly from the petition: "Toyota, should replace all steering wheels, under regular use, if the truck has less than 100,000K."

Why?

toyota is not bound by any way shape or form to any change petitions. if we are being honest here they could care less.

those petitions are more effective on getting an individual or a small business/org to cave to whatever the petition wants, usually on a local level (with enough signatures and angry mom facebook posts). not trying to get a giant corporation to warranty your steering wheel. if your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. if its not, get it re wrapped by someone who knows what they are doing.

an effective way to do this is figure out whatever you need to do to get a claim filed with the appropriate division in the NTHSA. i dont remember the process, but if this really is an issue you claim to be and you can get enough people to submit whatever NTHSA wants, they will look into it. sorry for the lack of specifics, ive read the process in the past and have forgotten what the details are.

Just a thought but maybe a proper paragraph that wasn't in broken English would help your cause.

Read the through the forum links. I'm one of many who have had the 4Runner steering wheel start peeling well before the bumper to bumper warranty is up. Toyota claims it's outside influence which I can't really see other than me putting my hands on the wheel

Whats wrong with my spelling?

Ahh I see it guess so. Fixed mine will you fix yours?

Of course I won't. This is a public forum where people say things like, "ahh, lol, lmfao, and haha." I might change it if I actually cared to proofread this like I'm back in college doing my final thesis. But I don't care enough to do it on a 4Runner forum. Merry Xmas! Oh wait, I mean Merry Christmas.

Guess you don't want to fight for your cause that badly. Takes time to post something on change.org then says doesn't care.

so, you've gone to multiple dealers in your area and they all have said no? have you tried contacting toyota of north america or any sort of corporate offices in america/CA?

have you read the language in your warranty clause in its entirety to see if there is any mention of interior wear being excluded?

IF, you have read the warranty claim in its entirety, have you contacted your counsel to see what your options are here?

Yes I've gone to multiple dealers and contacted Toyota North America.

Haven't read the language on the warranty clause. There are a few people that have said Toyota replaced the wheel without question. I'm trying to see if anyone would be willing to provide me with a service report of some sort.

I haven't looked for counsel yet. The part is about $1200 with labor to install it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and small claims would be my last step.

That wasn't my question. My question is why should it be replaced under warranty up to 100k miles? That seems excessive and unreasonable to me.
