Changed battery now ignition won't turn over.

Just replaced my battery with an Optima and the red light left of the steering wheel blinks continuously with the key in ignition yet everything electrical seems to be working. I've checked the fuses and all were fine.

It does have an alarm system on it but I bought it used so not sure what I need to do to reset it, if that is the problem.

What kind of alarm is it? You can't disarm the alarm with your remote?

Check to see if there's a button on the driver's side kick panel or under the steering column. If there is, hold it down and turn the ignition on and see if that works.

Sometime there is also the alarm disable switch located in the drivers side fuse box panel next to the steering column. Turn the key to on and flip it off then back on.

How do you disconnect power to the alarm??

I'm having this issue right now. I have a new battery and I've reset the alarm with the method here. However, mine is still without lights, and won't crank/turn over. I want to tryt4r4life's fix but i do not know how to disconnect power to the alarm.
Please advise. I would appreciate it.
