It wasn't a hard job but certainly a pain in the a$$. My truck has 30,000 miles with 10,000 of them towing a 5000 lb boat.
The oil in the transfer case looked great while the diff oil showed some discoloration but not burnt. There was very little metal on the magnetic plug.
I used Mobil 1 gearoil, I'm hoping to get 50,000 miles on this gear oil change.
I do recommend that you use a outboard motor lower unit gear oil pump to pump the oil. I tried a tube and gravity but this was sloow. The outboard motor pump worked much better.
