Changed Intake Manifold, now won't start.

I needed to change out my etc sensor but when reinstalling the fuel rail I snapped a bolt. Had to get a new manifold from the junk yard.

After putting everything back together, she started up for about a second but will do nothing but crank and crank but not turnover.

I know it's getting fuel because I noticed a leaky fuel injector. Getting orings this afternoon.

It acts like it's not getting spark but can't figure out why. Checked fuses and such...

Did I not plug something in? Maybe flooded to plugs? Help!

Yes and yes. Keep em coming, I'm hoping I left something unplugged that's slipped my mind.

Going to pull a plug when I get home to make sure no spark.

I saw someone mention a few weeks back that when he reinstalled his throttle body, he accidentally swapped a vacuum hose with a coolant hose.
If I recall correctly, same symptoms as yours. Started for just a second, then hydrolocked itself because it sucked coolant in.

Damn. Hope I didn't have that many beers!

Recheck your plug wire routing. It's REALLY easy to get this wrong:

I know you already checked it but that sounds a lot like the MAF not being plugged in or not reading. Can you check the codes?

Make sure both grounds are well connected to the upper manifold by the Diagnostics box.

To replace the ECT senor you removed the fuel rail?

Yeah, looks easy but the rail is in the way...I didn't have to remove it, just move it out of the way a little. Upon retihhtening, I used a crappy torque wrench. Thought "damn this is not right" then snap!

Do you know if you have spark? Make sure everything is connected.

I just needed to remove the fuel rail jumper, then with a swivel and a 19mm socket, remove the ECT sensor. 25ft/lbs for those bolts that hold the jumper to both sides of the rail.

Yeah...I tried to get that jumper but couldn't get it loose.

I'll be home in about 4 hours. Will know more then.

This happens to me also.

Check your crank position sensor. You may have unplugged it to make room when shifting the engine wiring harness around. It's on the bottom of the loom on the alternator side if I'm not mistaken. Very easy to forget and it will do exactly what you are describing.

Ok, will check that in a minute.

Pulled spark plug. Smelled gas. Tested, has spark. It acted like it was going to turn over so I'm gonna put it back together and try again.

Has spark, has gas...checked crank sensor. Didn't see anything.

Getting new oring this afternoon for the leaky injector. Will try more this evening...

It must be air... Try cleaning the MAF, TB, IAC. Crank with the throttle open.

Maybe it's time to bust out the starting ether
