Changed plugs and wires on 3vze, now it's idling rough??

Just put in brand new plugs and wires a few hours ago. But now it's missing a ton while it's idling. YES the plugs and wires are all matched up and I just got the distributer less than 2 years ago. I just ordered the cap and rotor for $20, but I'm still wondering what you guys think. Thanks

Sounds like some wires are swapped.

Do you still have the old stuff? Id put it back on and see if its the same.

Well it missed a little bit with all the old stuff on, hence why i changed it all. Not really in the mood to work backwards. But all the wires are in the right places, i checked like 15 times to make sure. And everything is nkg Copper.

Well you know what, there's kinda more to the story but I thought it was unrelated. I accidentally hit the positive terminal with my ratchet and screwed the whole battery, and had to replace it today because it was shot....hmmm

yeah you may just want to test the MAF the ignition ingitor and TPS i know these things get screwy when screw ups like that happen. i had to scrap a 22re truck because the PO did that and the hole harness was jacked and all the sensors too

i did that too one day, i.accidently sparked the **** out of my truck. turned out i surged it, & melted an efi relay.

check it, pull out every relay & check. couldn't hurt.

Mine actually created a miss because it wasnt signalling right, and later caused my engine to shut down. But, it may not be it, doesn't hurt to look.

If the EFI relay was blown, I dont think it would run at all.

To reitterate on my EFI relay, it started to melt the top '5' prong on the relay, not all of them. So, it caused it to actually miss, and after awhile, the fuse finally blew & the engine shut off on me. After replacement it didn't miss anymore. Like I said, it may not be it but its worth a look.

I could also suggest, checking for oil inside of your sockets that you screw the spark plugs into.

I took it to my buddy's shop yesterday. He said it wouldn't sound the way it did if the relay was bad. So i swapped in NGK plugs instead, to step up the quality a little, tried using the old and new wires, new distributer cap and rotor, still same thing. He's thinkin it might be an injector... But in good news, it only misses when it idles, and I drove it once I had all the new stuff on it and MY GOD it had soooooo much power, especially high end. Like WOW it made a difference.

Sounds like a miss somewhere so I would pull each plug while its running and the ones that kill the motor are fine but the plug you pull out and it stays running the same is going to be the misfire one I would pull that one out and check ti see if the metal insert came out or see if its tight.. worst case you may have bent valve and its not opening or closing correctly..

Well I tried the whole thing where i went one by one pulling out individual plugs and it didn't pinpoint just 1. And this has a brand new crate engine in it that has 7k miles on it.... so a bent valve would be weird
