Changed rear latch problem

I bought a rear door latch replacement because my old one rusted out and stopped working. I bought a whole new unit which came with a new wire to run. I installed the latch and is functioning properly but the door open light will not shut off. I have tried manually closing the latch to see if that would fix it. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

The rear cargo light on my '07 has a switch that has ON / OFF / DOOR positions. All the way to the right as you're looking into the vehicle from the open hatch is for the door but YMMV as it may be different based on model year. Maybe it was bumped over to the on position?
