changing climate control

What is the best attack plan to remove the entire climate control assembly? Ive searched but cannot find a good thread on it. (88 4runner)

Why would you want to do that? I would just remove the ac compressor and all the bits for it in front of the radiator. You're going to want to keep the heater installed for the winter and defrosting the window.

I need to get the climate control out of the DASH.

Allready pulled the dash pad and the glove box, and the radio bezel....

Oh... my bad. You said the climate control SYSTEM and that made me think of all of the associated components.

The bezel should snap out of the dash after you remove the cables from the back of it.

yup! you do!
its very hard to get at the clips that hold the cables in and if you try to finagle them out they WILL break they get brittle from the heater.
needle nose pliers and flat head and very gentle.

I am very happy to report I did not have to change the climate control. It ended up being one of the white plastic clips had lost its retainer and I was able to fix it without pulling out the whole dash.

Time now to install a factory clock and new climate control faceplate. Also time to do some work to my cracked to hell dash pad.
