Changing out fog lights

Is there any special way to change out the fog light on the passenger side ? Change as in whole housing not just the bulb.

I changed the bulb before and had the hardest time trying to stick my hand in there trying to change it because of the plastic piece around it. I’m not trying to remove the bumper to change it. Want to just take out the lining and work around that. I know it’s possible. I’m just wondering how and if there is any tips on it.

I did this about a month ago and did not remove the bumper. I took out the 5-6 bolts and 3 clips holding the front half of the passenger fender liner on. I pulled the passenger wheel off as well but you don't need to. Everything is easily accessible once you fold the liner back. Way simpler than pulling all those fastners to drop the bumper.

The plastic cover that surrounds the passenger fog assembly comes out and goes in very easy as well. There is a tab on either side that has a locking feature. Use a flashlight and feel around; you'll figure it out very quickly. It was simple enough I don't remember if the cover gets pushed up/down for the tabs to lock/unlock from the slots or if you push on the sides and they pop out of the slots. Removing plastics from cars scares people because they are worried about breaking things. Find the locking mechanism (usually a simple tab) and very little force is needed to get plastics off/on.

As for the driver fog, you can lay under the vehicle and access the assembly very easily. No need to pull the liner or anything else.

Good luck!

It's definitely possible just removing the lining, but removing the bumper certainly made it easier. If you remove the lining and get behind there, it's only 2 screws to remove the fog light housing itself. I replaced mine with Morimoto LED fog lights and love them

Has anyone put a fog light where the mouting brackets on the fog light are just straight leveled on each side ? Rather than staggered like the OEM one.

Ive seen that the OEM mounting bracket is staggered. One side slides in the slot and the other side is where the screws mount. The fog light I ordered isnt staggered. So im wondering if I have to cut one side off or something.

Has anyone figured out the purpose for that plastic shroud on the passenger side behind the fog light?

What a pain...
