Chasing Down some Vibes, and I don't mean "Good Vibrations" :D

it sounds just like a point of slop between turning left and returning right or vice-versa.. Both new racks I have gotten made the sound.. I was hoping id find a bad bushing yesterday just so I can diagnose it.

I really don't want to change them if I don't have too... $160 is a lot for 4 lower bushings.. then another $100 for the UCA's and another $70 for UBJ....

I just don't see that any of my CA bushings are bad, or that the UBJ is bad... The rack moves a lot on it's mounts.. Im hoping the poly bushings fix this... Im getting really frustrated...

Newer OTR (I may change those needlessly.. but damn they feel tight.. I just cant think that it's them)

ive spent a lot on trying to get this sucker right.. so its even more depressing that its not...

Well, I installed Poly Steering Rack Bushings and I welded up the Joint in the steering column yesterday... Steering feels AMAZING....

STILL have wobbles.... I'm thinking I'm going to buy a set of Moog bushings. All Lowers and Uppers.. I will probably grab a new set of OEM upper ball joints while im at it....

I have eliminated 99% of my steering wheel vibration somewhat by accident. Believe it or not one of the rear shocks had rusted so much that it broke where the nut holds it in the top. I replaced both rear shocks and that somehow fixed the vibration in the steering wheel. :noidea: I also installed ES bushings on the steering rack. I can't tell if that helped with the vibrations but it sure tightened up the steering response! I still have a very slight vibration in the steering wheel but it is practically negligible.

Every time I read these "vibration" threads I hope for a miracle solution. My 2wd has had this issue at 60-70mph since I have owned it. I too have replaced just about everything front suspension and steering related and greased everything as well and no resolution. I love my truck but this blows and bums me out that this otherwise awesome truck has this lingering problem. Fortunately, I rarely have to drive on the highway.
