So I have started my build kinda... starting small. I am starting with a power mod for the passengers that gshadow325 posted over on toyota120. It is awesome!! keeps the peace and the charge.

So I haven't started my build page and was thinking I should for fun and for myself to look back on the transformation. I haven't got the build planned out completely and already have changed my mind on components like 9 times, which is part of the problem of why I haven't started it yet.

Anyways, I have started with small mods and I have to give credit to gshadow325 for the power outlet mod in the doors. Here is what I am starting with. The hole saw is a 1"/25mm, (if you can find one go with a 24mm hole saw; the one I used was just a tad too big... it worked good thou) the wire is just left over from a auto start installed I did, purple will be my ground, red power. the wire is probably an overkill on gauge but it was what I had. The clips used to attached to the lighter outlet fit nice and snug. I will post the actual installation pix once done.





Mods I’m planning (saving the pennies):
The 4Crawler 1.5” body lift
UCA (still deciding brand)
Bilstien 5100 front and rear
OME 895 rear springs & 886 front springs
Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers
Extended rear brake lines
AFE Throttle body spacer
Cold air intake (not sure which; either the AFE or the valant)
Diff Breather Mod
Diff drop kit

This is the start I have others that I want to do but those seem to be more of a pipe dream and I would need to SAVE a lot or win the lotto. I’ll start saving the pennies now…

I do have to say she is not totally stock, close enough, I did replace teh stock shocks and struts at 96k when the front ones started leaking. I put in the Bilstein yellows.... It's a start
 
Here is the 12v door outlets installed... put one in each of the back doors.


Here is how I got to that point
cut and spliced into the Green w/ white striped wire for ground


Did the same with the white wire for power and used the yellow disconnects for connecting to the outlet


To be able to remove the door panel I removed these two screws



Then put it all back together.... easy peasy
 
Nice build. I also started small and have been scraping together money for everything. Personally I read up on Throttle body spacers and from what I understand they don't really do anything for our newer engines. Also I have 886's and unless you have a bumper I would not get them. They're too stiff even with a bumper.
 
The coils I ordered today and decided to go with Moog front and rear for an '08 FJ TTUE. going that route allowed me to get a few other goodies
 
SO.... I have this that I have had for when I do my lift... Finally getting around to it, on that I am done with my masters...


I want to make sure I am installing them correctly.. not like there is too many possibilities to do so... but I have been proven wrong before...
Anywho, the install it self is, or should be pretty simple... it is the adjustment I need assurance on... once in place... you raise/lower the lower nut (circled in red) up/down until flush with bottom of bracket.... then tightened the top nut (circled in green) down until tight on the bracket? anything else that needs to be done afterwards? I know I need an alignment once done with the lift.

Haven't installed these particular ones before, but that sounds right. I made a set myself. I would suggest using some bushing lube on them during the install, too.
 
So I have a question of reassurance or enlightening.... I am finishing getting what I need/want to do my lift. I have everything that I am tracking. I got the coil springs, shocks & struts and the Daystar 1.5" rear lift spacer. Now I am unsure of 2 things 1) do I require or is it just highly recommended to get a differential drop kit? The shocks and struts I am using are just the Bilstein yellows. I expect maybe 1 3/4 to 2" just because I am replacing the stock springs and they have over 118K on them. 2) The diff drop kit is for the front diff right? Thanks

So lift complete, spacers installed and loving it!!!! Need to get an alignment after I replace the Cam adjust sub-assembly and rear plate..


I haven't taken pix yet of it, been working on other projects. Will post some soon... :worthless

So here it is after the bath it got for going out and getting stuck



Another view after washing and it is on a slope but it still has too much nose down for my liking. I am getting 2.5" front spacers to bring the front within .5-1" of the rear.

Course it didn't help I need new tires as a result of needing to replace the Cam adjustment bolt and needing an alignment. But all is well and was fun. Definitely looking to go out again soon!!

And yes I removed the side steps. Wanted to see how she looks without them. undecided whether I'll put them back on or not.

I wasn't going anywhere without help. I was high centered and tires just dug in. I got pulled back off the ledge.

this build is no more.... She was totaled 6 months back and I was trying to get her back to continue but someone saw the potential and grabbed her up before I could.. .. once finances are in better shape U am on the search if a new 4R. there is no shortage of 4R here. just need to decide which gen so want.
