Hi folks - been a lurker here for a while, but never had a reason to pull the trigger and register until now.
A few weeks ago I picked up a '96 4X4 Limited w/E-Locker, and have started the process of bringing this beast back to her former glory. 160,xxx miles, blown suspension, and a few electrical gremlins, but a lot of truck for the $4500 I spent.
So far I've done the following:
Energy Suspension Swaybar bushings front and rear
Steering Rack bushings
Front bump stops
(All from Wheeler's offroad)
New '00 style headlights (old ones had broken alignment adjusters)
New flexplate and oil seals
...and the obvious stuff like oil change, spark plugs, diff and transfer cases refilled, and general cleaning.
I was fortunate that she came equipped with a decent set of Revo 2's, brand new belts, an optima red-top, and a set of Weathertech mats in the front and cargo area.
So what's next on the list? New suspension of course! I want to build this economically, but with purpose. Been looking at several different options as far as suspension goes, but I'm most inclined to do a Bilstein/'99 Tall coil setup to keep it simple. I'm by no means a huge wheeler, but enjoy a little off-roading (Main divide, Hungry Valley, and other So-Cal areas) as long as they're enjoyable and have a good view. The other main purpose will be camping and skiing, since my other car isn't exactly capable of going off-pavement.
