Cheap Mods

Alright guys, I am in search of some cheap mods I can do to my truck. Money is low right now, and the mod bug is biting. So let me hear your ideas. I am going to order a new head unit soon. I am open to all suggestions. :thanks:

I dont want to do the deckplate mod. Too much commitment right now. I just ordered LED's. I got them for Almost all dash parts. And I am going to paint my rims whenever I can find a oven to cure the paint in. Do it right the first time, and you wont have to go back and redo it.

We need to know your budget.

Any price really. Like I said I am open to all suggestions. Just somewhat cheap. Plus free mods are the best.

Deckplate mod is too much commitment? Buy a $5 deckplate, remove three screws, cut a hole and RTV it in. If you don't like the hole, put the deckplate back in.

ISR Mod is cheap and a big return on very little investment.

You can do the blue wire mod if you have an e-locker. HID's or build a storage compartment in the back. Or save for a big one.

Now that I've read into it, I will do the deckplate and ISR mod. I dont have the tools for the deckplate mod right now, so when i get those I'll do it. I also gotta wait till it cools off a bit. Way too hot here in Oklahoma.

Resurrecting the cheap mod post

I was thinking about this post today while I was sitting in my 4Runner so I remembered to take a pic of the center console update I made.

I used to have the vinyl on top but it had dried and cracked and was very uncomfortable for my elbow.

I peeled off the old vinyl, cut the new placemat to size, applied some industrial strength liquid cement on it and put a dictionary on it to dry. Then tucked the excess under and reattached the plastic hinge piece.

I think it turned out pretty good--and much more comfortable.

I already had the liquid cement so all in all, this project cost me ~$5.

When its time for tires step them up a size. Looks more agressive, give a little more ground clearance and cheap when replacing those stock tires.
