Cheap/Unattractive Spare Tire Rim Advice?

After getting two simultaneous flat tires in Death Valley, I'm never going out there again without two spares. I have one that's ready to go underneath, and I'm going to put the other inside. I have a decent old tire that just came off the T4R (replaced by a new set of tires that have better off-road performance), and I need a simple rim for it. It's spare tire... None of the shops around here seem to understand that I don't care about looks. I just want something that will work in a pinch. It seems like there's even spare tire style rim -- ugly as hell. That would be perfect for me.

I'm getting quotes for about $120 to get it set up with a valve stem, inflated, etc. How much should I be spending? Is that fair? The rim itself is usually about $90. At least that's what they say their 'low end' is.

Should I just go on eBay?

Why not just go to PickNpull and get a rim with tire for like $25?

I agree..... getting one from the junkyard should be alot cheaper.

I bought a spare tire/rim for a 4Runner at the junkyard. It was a little more than I thought it would be. I paid $50.

I'm using TapaTalk to respond - so I don't know where you're located - but if you're anywhere near San Francisco - I have a free for the taking spare rim from my 1999.

I don't know where you are in socal but around here there are tons of used tire stores . I've bought rims for spares before for about $15. You might need to take someone that speaks spanish but whatever.

I think I'll do that. I have a great tire that I saved when I had new ones installed. I want to use that, but I still need the rim... I'm definitely going to Pick-a-Part! Thanks for the advice
