Cheap way to reduce rear end sag?

I was going to buy a pair of Monroe load leveling shocks (the type with the coil spring built into them) to fix an inch or two of sag the rear end has developed on my 89 4Runner.

It looks like they don't make them.

What about a block? Any particular manufacturer you guys recommend for blocks on the 4Runner?

Any other suggestions? I cannot say I am a fan of stuffing spring into the bump stop location as some do...

Add-a-leafs are an option as well. I like them on my pickup. I ended up removing the overload leaf and replacing it with the AAL.

I would avoid blocks, they add stress to the springs and can cause them to 'wrap' more easily.

The right way to fix sag is with new springs. If that's not an option, I like the Zuk mod the best out of all the bandaids.

Agreed. Zuk mod is cheap and does the job QUITE well

Agree, and blocks will only lift; not improve ride quality

When I still needed to see how my truck would serve me- if she's gonna be a keeper - I did the Zuk and am very happy with it. (See write-up on my Yotatech build thread.)

Now that she had proven her worth (San Diego To Shasta, and back, San Diego to Big Sur and back), I have decided I will upgrade to Old Man Emu leafs as soon as budget allows.
