check engine help!

My check engine light came on today. Everything seems to be fine. Driving well nothing changed. The VSAC and TRAC lights also came on at the same time and wont go off.Does anyone know what could be going on? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please help..

I can give you my experience from the 3rd gen. My engine light came on, along with the VSC, TRAC lights. My wife was driving it and said she did nothing, she stopped at a store then started it back up and the dash light up like a christmas tree.

When the engine light comes on, the others come on too, not sure why, I guess to get your attention. With the engine light on, it usually means emissions. On the 3rd, it is most likely the O2 sensor. For me around $390. It could be something as simple as not tighting the gas cap, but it is probably something more. The good news, it is not your VSC or TRAC.

You need to get the codes read. Could be the cats on one side are bad = $2200. Just did them on my Son's 4gen.

$2200 for cats??? High flow cats are $60.00 per plus maybe 1 hour shop time per.....2 cats and 1 hour shop time per cat(maybe) $300.00 Not sure of why the added expense.

There are 2 O2 sensors as well that had to be replaced. I'm sure that there would of been a cheeper way but I'm in Europe and the T4R is in SC. A cracked manifold complicated the problem.

The poor guy has one post and your really scaring him. Yes, most likely it is emissions, but it could be a number of things. Yes, there is more than one O2 sensor, usually only one goes out and it is true that after market cat. are cheaper. Hopefully, it is not as bad all that.
