Check Engine Light & Traction Cntrl "Squiggly" Light On

Well, once again it was a snowy drive into work today. Around 11 I went to lunch and when I came back and pulled into work I was surprised that the Runner let me fish tail it into the job site. Typically the trac cntrl doesn't allow me to do that which I really don't like but thats another topic. So when I left tonight the squiggly trac light and check engine light stayed on after I started it and drove home. Any ideas what this may be?

Often when you get a check engine light vsc will get disabled. You should get the codes thrown by the check engine. If you don't have a tool to read the codes, Autozone will read the codes out for you free. Once that problem is fixed the other may go away. This could be something a simple as the gas cap is not on good.

Pretty generic but it is related to your gear shift position sensor (the thing you use to go from Park to Drive....). TIS may give you more details.

I just ran up to Advanced Auto to scan and that's where I took the picture. When I pulled out of the driveway I was curious, so I hit the gas and the rear tires just spun in the snow. No traction control

My take on this is the front abs sensors don't like getting wet/frozen/snow whatever & throw it . This has happened on my son's 05 twice now same conditions , cleared up after drying out ! IMO of course
