There are a few members on here with the fender mirror.. I know Trikz is running one. I am kinda on the fence about it.. but I will probably just go for it and drill the holes and mount it and be stuck with it

I feel like I have more pending projects on my 4runner than I can keep up with so I decided to not play any Battlefield 4 tonight and actually spend a couple hours in the garage.

I bought some Meguiers scratch remover to see if it would clean up some of the scratches and scuffs on my mirror spoiler. I did just a corner and I was pretty happy with the results so I think I will go over the whole thing later. At least it will clean up well enough to not have to re-paint!

But I have more projects that I want to complete before I even get to the spoiler so I figured it was a good night to run some wire for my field monitor. According to what everyone else has done you have to run 4 wires to the unit.. (2) to outside temp sensor at front of vehicle, (1) to speed sensor at computer and (1) to clock power so that it dims properly when lights are on and off.. This meant running wire through firewall and up pillar and under head liner. But the wire is all ran now I just need to start making connections which will be a different night.

I installed the rear Sonoran Steel body mounts and it fixed the problem of the body shifting and hitting bumper Thanks for the tips guys!

Sharp looking rig man! Hey, is that a little Honda 50 motorcycle in the garage? Our family had a lot of cool Hondas growing up. One of my favorites were a little Honda 70 ATC, and later a 200X three-wheeler. Those things were tons of fun.

After I installed my 4xinnovations rear bumper and drove it, every time I hit any type of bump there would be a clunk.. it was the body flexing on the mounts and hitting the bumper along the side returns.. very annoying! These mounts replace the rear two mounts and stiffen up the rear so that it rides great and doesn't flex and hit bumper anymore. If you look at the link I provided for the mounts there is a narrative that explains how much the body actually moves. It was totally worth the purchase!

Where did you buy them??

They are both JDM items that are only offered in Japanese and Australian/ New Zealand area 4runners (Hilux Surf). I haven't installed the triple din yet. The mounts are different and will take a good amount of modification.
The rear spoiler will require new mount drilling. It has a motorized mirror that is on a switch to come down and you can see your hitch area from the front of the vehicle. Do a google search for "Hilux Surf Mirror Spoiler". Not necessary but cool rare items that make your runner different

yes that's a 50.. its super fun.. and tough as heck.. There have been many 300+ pound guys who have ridden that little bike off jumps! Makes for fun videos Thing just keeps on going!

Minor updates:

Got a jerry can for the rear.. found out from an earlier purchase that it had to be a NATO can.

Changed oil for the first time... I figured I didnt want the dealership driving my runner anymore now that I am getting more done to it. I did like having the oil changes on dealer record but oh well.. Switched to synthetic.

Fancy rear brake bulbs... impulse purchase..

Finally got to use my new soldering aid.. Soldered my temp sensor for field monitor.

Finally got my field monitor hooked up

Got a working clock which I am totally stoked for!

The I bought this inclinometer just to turn around and sell.. but after setting it on my dash.. I will make this happen!

Got my fuse block mounted to a plate with breaker. I will bolt this to factory plastic fuse cap under engine compartment. Its hinged to still be able to see fuse diagram. I want to get a sticky magnet for it to keep it from moving.

When I purchased my FMU it came with temp sensor, but based on info from another thread the part#83482-35010 is what to use.

Hit 160,000 this weekend.. she is growing up so fast!

Then I got my blue sea fuse block all installed which meant I could finally run power to my CB

I pulled out my stock washer bottle and made the switch to the sonoran steel washer setup. Clears up a lot of room in the wheel well.

You have to extend harness and fluid lines but that's pretty easy.
Mine ended up a little tilted so I used a couple zip ties to straighten it out.

Then I finally got my in cab winch controls wired up. Its nice to be getting a lot of these half finished projects wrapped up!

Just put one of those inclinometers on my dash. Can't wait to see how/where you put yours.
