I agree, I am super impressed with my ARB front bumper.. that took a serious pounding and came through awesome.. dented and bent but I think it saved a lot of the vehicle.

AS for the gear ratio, just count the teeth on the ring gear and the teeth on the pinion and divide. Easy peasy.

After 4 weeks of searching literally every hour I found this new runner. Its a 2002 Stellar Blue Limited. I'm not going to start a new thread since the 99 will now serve as the donor... so they are basically blood brothers

I am going to swap over all that I can that is still good and buy new bumpers and anything else that was damaged. My 99 3.4 had 162k and some change when wrecked and still runs great so I will probably just store the motor as a back up. This new runner has 152k so I don't know if I will ever need the extra motor and trans. But it will be a nice peace of mind to have.

I'm embarrassed to say that I never really cleaned my weathertech mats in the 99. So I scrubbed them with soap and water and it wasn't working.. but I broke out the super clean and let them soak and then scrubbed and they came out pretty decent

Somehow I had always missed your build thread until about 3 weeks ago when I started to look for a rear bumper for my truck seriously and came across your build because it came up in my search for people with the 4x rear bumper with swingout. I was thinking "Damn, he built a really nice truck really fast" and then all of a sudden there was the post about you getting hit and the truck totaled. It hurt me to read it...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who would go and buy another 4Runner immediately if god forbid something ever happened to mine.

I did end up ordering the 4X bumper for my rig though! Hopefully your build on this one goes just as well.

Are you planning on doing the same exact set up this time or are you going to change it up some?

Also, a somewhat personal question, and I understand if you don't want to post it here, but how did everything work out insurance wise on your white 4Runner? That's another fear of mine is something happening to my truck and then I get pennies on the dollar for what I have into it because some negligent person doesn't care enough about their stuff to not wreck my stuff.

I know you don't get everything out a car if you go to sell it, but I feel like if someone else takes your baby away from you you should be compensated because it wasn't your choice like selling is.

How bad was the damage on the armor on the 99? The bumpers looked pretty good all things considered. Maybe you should sell them, or give them away, you know, like charity. I know a poor guy who could use them
