I just bought a chip for my 86 4runner. It is supposed to be spliced into the IAT sensor. I'm fairly sure that it is with the MAF but my book don't mention it at all. Does anyone know if I even have one? If I do where is it, and if its part of the MAF which wires are the ground and signal?

The IAT is in the MAF. There is nothing to "chip".
What you probably have is a fixed or variable resistor that is supposed to fool the EFI ECM into thinking it's colder, so it will dump more fuel in.

Thats fine i just need to know what wires to hook it to. i have looked for hours trying to find anything that would help with no luck
