Choice between King and Icon remote res w/ adjusters

ICON and King shocks

"From the ground"

Measurements of lift are from fender bottom to hub center

I think you could measure the lift to and from any point. A lift of 4" from the ground to the top of the hood will be 4" of lift from the wheel hub center to the bottom of the fender, not including any change in tire size. If you change the tire size and you want to compare lift height then you need to measure from the wheel center to a fixed point on the body, like the fender.

Can I use long travel shocks with KDSS?

I just purchased new suspension yesterday, was going to go with King Shock but decided to try the OME BP51's instead (Medium/400lb) Coils. It seems these may match the quality or even surpass Kings. Spanner wrenchs are included.

Good luck.

For clarity, the spanner wrenches that are included are only to adjust the dampening (both rebound and compression), and it's a bit of a pain in the ass. MUCH more tedious (but also more adjustable) than the Icon or King adjustments where you just turn a knob to adjust ONLY the compression, the rebound is not adjustable.

The BP-51 needs to be off of the vehicle and placed in a spring compressor to adjust height.

Last-- Are you sure you got 400lb springs? That's VERY soft... How much preload are you running?

All that said, between Icon, OME BP-51, and King, this is the best performing suspension I have experienced. The internal bypasses do wonders.

I've never ridden in/driven a vehicle with Fox suspension. I'm sure it's great.

There are a lot of variables when measuring to the ground. Tire air pressure, tire size (Which varies wildly depending on brand.), Aftermarket skid plates etc. The measurement Quebec gave is more of a clearance increase to some point on the vehicle, probably the front skid I would guess. It combines both the increased tire size and the increase in suspension lift. If you just want to know how much suspension lift you got then you need to know the initial hub to fender measurement was then what the new measurement is. The difference is the pure lift amount. Quebec said he got 4 inches of lift. Most of the OEM replacement kits are between 1" and 3" for 5th gen 4runners. And if they are adjustable can provide more or less than the stated amount of suspension lift. I personally get about 2 1/2-2 3/4" from my lift

I have natural body lean with KDSS - which is going to impact the lateral measurements wheel hub to fender.

At first installation I was:
Compared to stock +4.5" avg of lift up front with +2.6" avg in the rear (hub center to fender) - this was changed almost immediately.
After lowering the fronts + a few months of settling + 100lbs of sliders it measured.
Compared to stock +3.3" avg up front and +2.75" avg in the rear (hub center to fender)

The frame rake was reduced from the factory 1/2" difference on L and R side, to 1/4" difference rake on both sides - the rear of the frame still sits slightly higher than the front.

Clearance is indeed an additional 4" compared to stock.

If you have any additional questions, PM me.

OP has made his suspension choice, I'm glad he picked ICON. Whoever wrote the installation instructions for KING should be taken out back and shot.

Any reason you don't have EXT travel on the rear?
Regrets not going EXT?
