ARB On-Board Compressor
Finally carrying my own air! The ARB High Performance On-Board Compressor ARB-CKMA12 was just installed, and so far I'm very happy with it. It airs up a tire in about 90 seconds.
I first considered mounting the compressor in the big, nice, empty spot in the rear passenger side of the engine compartment but figured I'm probably going to put a second battery there sooner or later. The compressor is now just in front of the radiator, mounted low enough to not be (very) visible through the grille. Approximate location shown by the orange outline below.
On the outside the only visible parts are a few cables going down to the compressor. Using the switch that came with to power on and off.
I suppose it would look nicer to just have the coupling mounted in a nicely drilled hole somewhere, but we couldn't find a good place to put it and this solution meant that no drilling was necessary.
So THAT'S what peace of mind looks like...
