Chrome my tip!

Over the weekend I noticed just how sad the stock exhuast tip looked.

Anyone put a after amrket tip on? Can you suggest a model brand.

The new 4Runners can have a bigger chrome tip as an option. I think it's just a bolt on. Looks nice, something extra to polish.
 
Valor is the tip you can buy that Toyota sells as an accesory. I'm sure you can go to your local parts store and find a bolt on tip as well.
 
Remember this critical equation when purchasing exhaust tips:

Every inch increase in diameter equals 10 HP. :D

The valor tips do look good though...
 
I have a Valor tip too and love it. It basically came with my 4runner and I can't imagine not having it. It just makes it that much nicer - sure only for looks but a nice accessory nonetheless. It's polished stainless too. Just don't go over board and get a melon shooter tip. I see enough of those w/ mufflers on little 4 cylinder rice rockets which make the car sound like it's eternally kiddie farting.

10 HP? That's it?

I'm yanking my Valor tip, and going to Advance Auto to get a bigger tip so it can compete with the aftermarket fart cans on Honda Civics.

I got an empty Folgers can I'll sell you for $3. Boost at least 40 hp!

Seriously though, I'm going to pick up the Valor tip in the next week or 2, its a simple bolt on correct?

Bolts on easily and looks great. Very high quality product.

It bolts onto the existing tailpipe with a C clamp and well... errr... bolt. There is also a small hole on the bottom of the tip. Just make sure that it is towards the ground when mounting the tip so that any liquid drains out from the lip of the exhaust tip.

Hey NViejeP,
Where did you see the Valor exhaust tip for $25? I just stopped by the dealership a few hours ago and they were selling it for $61. I didn't buy it because I had remembered seeing it for around $35 on the internet.

Can anyone here recommend an online store that they've had good experience with that sells these exhaust tips for ~$35?
 
I recently replace my exhaust and have an extra valor tip laying around...Ill sell it to you for 30 bucks. I shined it up after I got it off the truck and it looks like new.
 
Hey guys....dont forget your "type R" and "nos" stickers....lots of power there. .....Seriously, I'm going to make a stainless tip to match my intake...
 
Anyone have any good side and rear view pics of the Valor installed? I've been thinking about getting one but would like some good pics to see what it will look like. I stopped by the stealership and they wanted $55 for one. Seems a bit high to me and they will have to order it.
 
I actually had the exhaust cut of just in front of the resonator and had the exhaust turned out, with a tip welded on. I can stand the way the stock pipe just sticks straight out.
