So I decided to not put my bumer on as it needs some more paint. My dad convinced me to use the same paint that I used on my grill to make it look better. I will probably do that when I get home from school tomorrow...



My LEDs Came!!! They are so awesome! Very bright!!! One of the brake lights did not work and I am getting a replacement.

The only modification I had to do was drill a hole in the orange reflector in the housing becase the LEDs are longer than a regular bulb.

Trail Riding!

Me and my friend went to the junkyard today and we swung by here on the way home. This is near Cedars of Lebanon State Forest and it a county road. My dad went out here back in the day. I checked each water hole and I sure am glad I did! haha It was about 1.5 miles each way. We had to turn around because of deep mud down one way and a huge log on the other way.

It was really fun and ranged from gravel, tight trails, fields, water holes, hard pack dirt, mud holes (stayed away from those), and TN rock crawling.

I decided to paint the bumper with bedliner. It looks awesome except for one small spot where it dissolved every layer of paint that was on it. I am just going to cover that up with a bumper sticker. I just need to put it on! Maybe tomorrow??

I painted the windshield wipers satin black. I am also going to paint the cowl satin black.

Friday, my friend and several of his friends went mudding after school. Well, my friend calls me up and asks me if I can help get someone unstuck. I get over there and find this... It took a nissan and my T4R to get this guy out haha














I am going to try and make some better mud flaps tomorrow out of some heavier rubber... these are too small. I have a huge paint chip on my driver's door even with these on.

I am so tired of working on this thing! I'm glad I got it on haha









Here is the bad spot. I think I'm going to put a TEQ sticker there. Hopefully I can het a Savage tube bumper someday....



I will be removing the front bumper to paint it with bedliner sometime in the near future :happy:

More Off Road Adventures!

Today, I went offroading with my friend in his Nissan. He did pretty good until he messed up his truck in a mud hole. I think he gunked up his MAF sensor with muddy water. It kept stalling after that. I had to pull him out three times. Overall, It was lots of fun. The only things that would have made it better were a co-driver/ navigator/ spotter/ cameraman and my map book. I am compiling a map for the locals to use.

After I picked up my diploma! (I graduated btw!)

Well, I made a short list of things to do...

(in no order)

1. Take apart front turn signals, dry out, and seal better DONE!
2. Remove front bumper and prep for paint DONE
3. Install cowl DONE!
4. Re-do the ground for my backup lights done.
5. Grease U-Joints done.
6. Plastidip the panels under the headlights (to see if I like it) Change of plans
7. Plastidip my driver's side rocker panel and possibly the lower part of the door (to see how it looks) DONE

9. Clean my engine bay some more and silicone it DONE!
10. Go by TN Offroad and get a quote on some sliders/ welding on sliders done. $100
11. Order a fire extinguisher and mount done.
12. Order a tow strap done.
13. Order a CB- I'm thinking of mounting the antenna on the front passenger side of the bumper. I've had my magnet antenna on my hood and it doesn't bother me. Plus, it's fun to watch on the trail lol. DONE! (sorta)

That should be enough :fro:

Craigslist score! (I hope)

I just so happened to search "CB" on craigslist last night and that led to my grandma picking up 5 CBs, 3 magnet antennas, and a bunch of wires for $40 today! I'm not sure what they are yet, but I am hoping to get at least a good setup for me and my dad to have. They're are supposed to be 2 Cobras and 3 Midlands.

Cobra CB! It has full time power with a switch up front. I just use the same settings, so there is no need to have it up front.

So I burnt out one of the bushings on the rear upper link I bought. I measured it and need to go by Advance Auto to see if they have the bushings (energy suspension) in stock. I really hope this works!






I painted my front bumper Sunday night and it was very dissapointing. I spent $15 on Duplicolor wheel paint thinking that it would be great quality and last a long time. It was waaaay lighter that the color on the can. More like a silver than a graphite. The finish was also terribly uneven. I stripped off the paint today with aircraft remover. I bought some professional grade Rust Oleum semi gloss today. I will see how it goes.

Crossing fingers for you! I understood them to be captive and non-replaceable so went oe. I see you've solved the captive part. You'll def have to post up your findings! If it doesn't pan out there's always the junk yard.

I've heard the Rustoleum "Hammered Black" comes out more as hammered graphite if you like a hammered finish.

on the third gen the rubber for the upper trail arms is the same diameter as the bottom, but the bottoms have a metal sleeve on them. however i went to a junk yard and the second gen upper and lower links are the same size and both have metal sleeves, they make a kit for the second gen rear bushings in poly so i think this is a possibility.

That is some awesome thinking D Farms! Keeping it in mind for when the 99 needs the upper rear control arms....then we'll see what's what.

Note- not all the 3rd gen lower rear control arms had replaceable bushings. The 96 didn't. I don't know when they went from captive to replaceable, the 99 has the newer style. I have pics of both kinds as I replaced the ones in my 96 with a set from an 02:

I already re-painted it last night. It looks okay from 5+ feet. I'm just going to accept the fact that it is a spray painted chrome bumper haha.
