Well, it has been over a year since my last post lol. Life has been busy! (and great!)

Here are some things in order: bought an aluminum rooftop tent (love it!), adopted a second cattle dog mix, got married to my soulmate!!, lost our little yorkie-poo, moved to east TN near Windrock, moved into a camper while I'm building our house, bought a 98% rust free 89 4Runner, and still have not gotten my 91 Xtra Cab running.

Short term plans for the 89: Reinstall cleaned carpet & rear seats, Subaru BRZ seats, custom interior panels, all new door/window seals, all new brakes, wheel bearings, fluid changes, new grille, LED lights.

Long term: Get rid of the 3.0 & automatic. Insert 96-97 (preferred) or 89-95 1UZ and R150f (dual cases eventually). I want to build a custom camper topper for it. We'll see what happens next winter haha

Time for my yearly post LOL

Life is great! We have been super busy with everything.


We have 5 old Toyotas in the family now! My original 98 (with over 455k miles now), 97 Becky offroader, my wife's super clean 98 2wd, the 89 that has been on cinderblocks for over a year now, and the beater with a heater 91 pickup! I also bought a 1995 LS400 with only 150k miles, the 1UZ is going to go in the 89 4Runner next year (hopefully)


I've rebuilt 2 R150f transmissions now! Thanks to Timmy & Yota1! I rebuilt my marketplace one and swapped it into diamond then I took Diamond's 450k mile transmission, rebuilt it, and converted Becky to a 5 speed finally.

I got the 5 speed conversion done less than 500 miles before driving to Colorado! Didn't have any mechanical problems on the trip!

I am quite pleased with the 35s!! Even with tock 4.10 gears I have plenty of power on the road (except for 5th gear) and is very useable on the trail. I'm hoping to regear to 4.30s and get my duel cases installed before spring :gun6:

I got the pinch welds clearanced pretty good, but I'm going to make a 1/2" body lift to hopefully get rid of the rest of the rubbing.
