cigarette lighter stopped working

My cig lighter worked fine when i got the 1996 t4r 2 weeks ago. I took a long roadtrip (1500 miles) with an electric cooler hooked up to the cig lighter and somewhere along the way it stopped working.

I checked with my cell charger and with a test light and there's no power to it anymore. I checked allfuses on the left side of the dash and under the hood and didn't find any blown fuses.

Any ideas?

uh oh. My grandfather always told me to check my cigarette lighter in my vehicles cause once it goes there is bound to be problems. It sounds like total BS but it always has seemed to be the truth. Any agreement?

I think I found the problem after searching all over Yotatech. It seems there's a "fusible link" behind the lighter that burns out if you leave something hooked up to it for too long (like an electric cooler or a portable air compressor). Seems it's a pretty common problem.

I've got to take the dash apart to get to the back of the lighter to replace the wire that burned out, or just replace the lighter. Will probably wait til I'm ready to replace the radio.
