I have a 2003 V8 sport 144k miles that has significant frame rust that could be used for parts maybe? Looking to get rid of it. Make me an offer. Has been sitting in my driveway for 18 months. It was a daily driver until mechanic said he was afraid to put it on the lift because there’s significant frame rot where one of the lift points would go.

I’m in Cincinnati Ohio, just thought someone may want a donor vehicle or something?

That's pretty sad! I too have an '03 and have had a couple of small plates welded on to the frame in an area under the passenger side door where a 12" long x 1.5" wide hole rusted in the bottom of the frame rail and it's a yearly maintenance item to check, scrape, prime, paint various areas of the frame.

Maybe you've given up, but if you haven't done so yourself, go around your entire frame with a ball peen hammer and use the ball end on the frame, rap solidly on the whole frame that you can get to and just see how much damage there really is. I got a ton of rust out of the inside of the frame by doing that from various holes in the bottom of the frame digging around with a coat hanger. Other than that one really bad spot there were no others.

Oh…there are several spots. The main problem is there’s a hole right next to a transmission mount. My mechanic and a welder told me to not hit any pot holes on the way home.

It sucks, because (aside from being 20 years old and having common 20 year old car things), if the frame wasn’t rotten, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it to Florida.
