cladding?

I think they are using matching color cladding from the factory now, but it would take 2 months to get over here, so if you can wait 2 more months or so, you should be able to get the sport edition with AP for around 400$, since the AP has fog lamps included, and you are paying extra for the sport edition for the fog lamps, so the AP is close to being free.

I can understand your desire for color cladded body panels, I personally like the gray cladding, and purchased a rig with it. Hope it does what the engineers designed it to do, protect from dents/scratches and parking lot idiots.

Another way to look at it is you now have a "collectors" edition, only a few made. As a knife collector I know when some knife company makes a mistake or changes it's design, the first set of knives become a collectors edition. ;)

That is an optimistic way of looking at it. I think the cladding will remain on the Sport and color is an option on the SR5. Yes, the cladding helps protect from careless parking lot door dings and assorted brush on the trail. I washed it last night and the idea of not having water streaks on paint is very nice.

I personally like the grey cladding on my SR5. I don't see many around here that have it. Most of the SR5's I see have the color coded cladding.IMHO does not look as good. I think the grey cladding gives the SR5 a sporty rugged look which looks like it can go anywhere.:p :dancin:

YU code....my dealer has one coming in a few weeks...same look as a SR5 with AP package. They were asking $500 over invoice. Word is cladding is gone, YU is standard, MSRP is $100 less than with cladding.

Confirmed via Toyota customer service and the regional rep for my dealer.

I just saw a Sport and an SR5 with the YU option at a local Dealer (Toyota of Irvine).

The Sport looks AWESOME!

It looks like a limited with a hood scoop, very cool.
I am going to get a Limited but after seeing the Sport with the YU option.... :(

If I could only get the power seets and Nav on the Sport!
