Clamps for attaching things to roof rack

I'm trying to put together a fishing rod carrier to go on my factory roof rack (98 limited). The cross bars have an oval cross section. Does anyone know of general hardware for mounting attachments to these cross bars or do I need to buy something from Thule or Yakima and modify it?

You say "rod", but I don't want to assume you are talking Fly rod, but these guys from Montana are awesome: Products ? Big Sky Rod Box

I use these for just about anything on my round Yakima bars:

In all my years of going to the beach, it seems to me one of the easiest solutions is to get the snowboard/ski racks by Yakima or Thule and the rods will lay in there perfectly. They are also lockable, which is nice. You can find plenty of those rack attachments used.

This has to be Hatteras!! Looks extremely familiar and you are one of the tried and true guys I'm referring to who I always see with the yakima racks! Love seeing the 3rd gen on the beach. I always take my truck down but the 4Runner would do 10x better. The last youtube video I did was about driving on the sand in my truck :dance:
