Clank in front end area?

Over the last couple of days I've began to notice a metallic clank coming from the front end area (I installed OME coils about 3 weeks ago, rechecked everything and it's all tight). Best I can tell, it's coming from the front passenger side, close to the tire. I've not been able to hear it outside of the vehicle, doesn't happen every time. Most commonly happens after the 4runner has sat for a little while, when the wheels are turned, and backing up (happens in forward also, typically not as often and also not as loud). It's always a single clank at low speed. It's not the typical driveline clunk, I've greased that and it's not the same area. I did some searching and it seems that it's common for the steering stops to make a similar noise (and it's the right area), but I put some grease on those and it made no difference. Any suggestions?

My old 04 SR5 used to do it to never really bothered to have it looked at it did it for almost the whole 5 years I owned it. Sorry probably not much help

put daystar 2.5/1.5 on and now i have a clanking noise also in my front passenger and i hear it only when i hit bumps. I made a thread about it and people told me to check my sway bar and things. Go to threads ive started and check it out.

Ark, I have the same problem. My passenger sway bar link is bent and its hitting the spindle at full turns. Took it to my mechanic, said it wasn't an issue. Either buy a new link or take a crowbar and bend it back. My cv boot on that side also sprung a leak and got my cat covered in grease, awesome smell!

My CV is leaking on that side as well. I'll take a closer look at that when I get a chance.

Could be CV related.

Is it when your turning the wheel and @ lock? If so - the steering bump stops can be lubed.

It does it when turning but not necessarily at full lock. I read about the steering bump stops, already lubed them. I need an alignment, may have the shop check it out then if I can't figure it out.

I got the clunk and both my inner cv boots are ripped so my guess is my CV's. I ordered some and plan on changing mine out here in the next week or two and hopefully that'll fix my clunk.
