Classics go to Moab?

Not sure I'll be able to drive straight and take pictures at the same time.

That's the tough part about wheeling in a place like this--you want to record eveything you see, but you have to pay attention to where you're going, too! That's part of the reason why I didn't cover more trails--I was taking so much time just looking around and taking pics. Even then, about half the shots are what I consider "for memory aid only"--not what I'd call a quality photo, since I couldn't wait for better weather or the sun to change its angle, etc.

That's why I invited one of my jeep buddies. After I asked him if we wanted to do a Moab trip, I told him he would have to leave the jeep at the house and be the co-pilot.

What do y'all think about inviting all of t4r.org?

What FoG said. Anybody that wanders in like you or Gerdo is welcome as far as I'm concerned, but we're not organized enough for the mob that would result if we broadcast this to the other subforums. Huge gatherings like that need permits and trail leaders and stuff.

I think something like that would be cool, but we'd have to start planning years in advance, not months.

That's cool man, I Won't be bringing a trail rig just riding along for the trip. I wasn't sure how big you guys were tryin to make this but I'm lookin forward to meeting you guys and drinking a few beers

What day are you planning on leaving and heading back? Being that we are both in League City maybe we can meet up and split some gas.

I'm open on when I can leave I just wanna be back in town on the 13th for the red river shootout!

Mike you freakin &$%))^. I didn't realize that was you. I was sitting there thinking you and this "VenomHP" were going to be going at it in the truck all the way home. I see your earlier post now. Dude that is some funny &$#&!

Just thought I'd bump this thread back up and stir up the anxiousness and anticipation again! I talked with my new boss today about getting time off in mid-October, and he said it probably shouldn't be a problem--basically, I'm not one of the vital cogs in the machine yet, so they could easily cover for me if I'm gone (LOL!). Now to see if I can put the bucks together, get some of the parts I want before then...and hope the truck survives all the local runs in the meantime (I've been beating it up a bit, seeing what it can do on some of the hardcore Black Hills routes)! I am SO psyched about this trip--I will be seriously bummed if I can't make it.

Yeah I know the feeling. After wheeling this weekend with my 3.0 I am looking hard for another rig. She did really well, didn't break at all, only had to be winched once and the IFS did a lot more than I thought it would but I really wanna get locked/caged/ and other things.

I'm thinking that I should but a built one as I just don't want to spend my weekends building. The boys are 7 and 4 and I would rather be out there on the trails with them then in the garage. I figure I can teach them a little as we "maintain" a rig and then in about 5 years spend some time on a build.

Although I am not familiar with Moab trails, do you think it would be a good idea to plan the trails by day? I'll do the research if you guys think it is a good idea.

I was thinking of that as well. A lot of what we choose will depend on the rigs present and their capabilities, so any schedule will be completely flexible, but setting a possible itenerary couldn't hurt. Maybe mix up the difficulty levels, hard one day, sightseeing/casual the next, etc.?

Moab trip

I want to go too. I'm moving back to the Midwest this summer so I will have to see how that all goes before I commit. Hoping I can make it!!!

This. Depending on how many rigs show up and what the spread is, we might even want to run multiple groups.

The White Rim, Fins and Things, Hells Revenge, Elephant Hill, Bull Canyon, Beef Basin, and that Onion Creek that Bob posted earlier are all on my short list.

Here ya go!

Got it off of crawlorado, used to watch them race when i lived there. Theres a bunch of FJ's, buggies, 1st gen, 3rd gen.
