Did I miss anybody who is interested or definitely going?

I'm good with whatever trails that the majority decides. If I have to bypass to see some other guys run some killer obstacles, that is cool with me. I would also love to spend some time just doing the scenic drives as I have never been out there.

Right now, I'm in an 89, 3.0 5spd, with stock drive train, no armor. 2 inch BJS and Blocks in the rear. Don't plan on being in this 4Runner or at least this configuration by the trip though.

What's wrong with your '89, Helo? Drop those blocks in favor of some OME springs, relax the bars in front, get some sliders and a set of 31s and you'll be golden.

I wheeled Sevenmile Rim TrailDamage.com - Sevenmile Rim It was easier but fun. Probably stocker friendly if you don't do Wipe Out Hill, which is optional.

There is Tippy Dome where you get about 28*-30* off angle.

And you can play on Silver Crack

We did this in the rain without issues, it made thins more fun.

One of the first obstacles on "Behind the Rocks" (my rating, 8+) kicked my butt and I made it up to the last few inches but had to back down. There are other access points of it that some obstacles can be done.

"Cliff Hanger" (7+, Is very difficult too. There were obstacles that took quite some time to accomplish. The first two, you go down them but the trail is an out and back so you have to come up them. We did without winching but lots of tire placement tries.

"Poison Spider Mesa"(6-7), not stocker friendly, is a fun one.

Kid, you inspire me--maybe I'll make "Abomination" my truck's official nickname! As for the camping, I'm definitely a tent-on-a-clear-spot kinda' guy--that's what water jugs and propane are for. We can always run into town for supplies when necessary.

Hey HM, don't let what your truck doesn't have put you off--there is PLENTY to do with a stock/nearly stock rig! Just because a few of us have gone nuts on ours doesn't mean we're only looking for the gnarliest trails out there--I love scenic exploring as much (if not more) than the next guy. Besides, there's always the strap or winch to get past sticking points (and NOTHING to be ashamed or embarassed about--we've ALL been there!).

Looks like we can can nail down the primitive camping idea. I say we find two good scenic drives for Friday and Saturday and like KidV said we just play the rest by ear. I say on Sunday we do something a little more gnarly.

Yeah, I know you guys are right. I took her out wheeling 2 weekends ago and was really impressed with what I could get up/down. I'm working on some rust issues right now and plan to make a decision on which way to go after that. I might sell it. I've been looking at a few that I could pick up without having to spend a lot of time on it. You guys know how it is trying to find garage time. If I don't sell it then I plan on doing sliders, locker (rear) and tires before the trip.

My camera broke first day out, but here are a few pics that I have gotten from others. One of the girls out with us has about 15 pics, but I haven't gotten them yet. The second pic was after my 2nd attempt at an off camber climb. Without the rear or front locked it just wouldn't grab enough for me to get up. After I slipped sideways and found myself sliding down the hill, I locked up the brakes and called for the winch. It was the only assist I had to get in the 3 days.

Don't worry, Helo-mech, we won't tell TOO MANY people that the winch was attached to a (cough, cough) Jeep! With sliders, locker, and tires, you'll do just fine (if that's the route you take). Oh, and Bill, I intend to pick up a nice Garmin this summer, but if I don't, my brother has already told me to take his. My guidebook has coordinates for all of the trails. I'll dig through the book and see if there are any nice moderate trails that might be good for those casual runs--mostly easy, with some bumpy sections to spice things up.

Here's some possibilities I thought of, to make the most of each day--there are a number of trails that can be tied together, and are reasonable enough in length to allow combinations without hurrying. Onion Creek, a nice, easy scenic route, ties into Thompson Canyon, an easy-to-moderate drive that heads into the La Sal Mts for a change of pace. Top of the World is nearby, another easy yet extremely scenic drive. For another day, Kane Springs (Kane Creek) is a neat moderate-difficult trail that ties into Hurrah Pass and Chicken Corners, two easy but very scenic runs. For a more difficult run, I also like the sound of Fins-n-Things, and that would give us the classic slickrock experience. These are just some ideas to consider.

Depending on the group size, amount of spotting needed and stops for pictures, I know that Kane Creek is a pretty full day. And Top of the World is NOT and easy drive, moderate to difficult. I'm not saying that if a group is driven that they couldn't do some combo's but I know after a day on Kane Creek, it's time to relax. Don't underestimate time/length of these trails.

I will say that my son (was a run ahead, on foot) spotter thru most of Poison Spider Mesa for me and we blasted thru most of the trail in less than an hour and met with the rest of our group. It had taken the group about 5-6 hours to get to where we met. One rig compared to 5 makes a huge difference. (My son and I rock climbed that morning then decided to meet the group)
