Classics go to Moab?

Good call on trailer and towrig space, Nate. I don't imagine that'll be a problem, it being Moab, but I'll be sure to check. Just so that I know, right now it's Nate and Helo/Venom that will have tow rigs?

So unless I hear any objections, I'll call Moab Rim and set up reservations for the group site for the 10th-14th? At $8/person/night, that'd be $40* each, and folks could be individually responsible for anything before or after. Does this work?

* I don't know if they'd want money up front, or how much, or anything like that, I'll find out.

You should rethink this. Pulling the third and installing the Spartan is really easy, and you'll love having the locker back there.

Are you planning on running 33s with your stock gears?

Looks that way. I'm leaving on either the night of the 7th or early on the 8th. It's a 21 hour drive for me. Either way I will post up along the way.

Yeah for a little while I will be on stock gears. Not the best for driving, but I don't DD it. I'll give it some thought though. Maybe I can throw the locker in there real quick. Have to look at budget and time.
 
Personally, I'd rather wheel 31s and give up a little clearance than run 33s and be that undergeared. Some of those slickrock hills are steep, man.
 
I foresee mine on either side or the lid during this trip. Cant wait... I've only been in one roll over in my life and it wasnt fun. At least i can keep the windows up and A/C on until then.

That's okay, Nate--we'll just roll your flattened roller skate back over, and you can sit back and laugh as I do the same thing to mine!

I emailed back to make sure that there's somewhere to stash tow rigs and trailers, but this looks good to me.
 
If you guys want me to take cash, I'll do that. It might be easier if I or somebody just put up the 1st nights deposit and we settled up on site. I'm easy either way, I don't mind a check but paypal might be slicker. Up to you guys.
 
So if I am reading this right, we all send KidV $8 to cover the first night as a deposit, then we pony up the rest on arrival?

You can send me money if you want, but it might be easier to do that at camp.

Moab Rim says there's overflow parking, so unless I hear any objections I'm going to call and make the reservation monday morning.
 
No objections here, and as long as you're good with putting up the deposit as you mentioned, I'll square up in camp. How many people do we have committed--are we just squeeking by the minimum? Hopefully everyone that would like to go will be able to. After all this build up, those few days are going to fly by and seem like a few hours!

This is what I've got right now - I took the liberty of adding SVDude, because I'm fully expecting that if he decides he can't come FoG will drag him from his house by the short and curlies.

We haven't heard from Ziggs recently, and he probably wouldn't be camping anyway, seeing as he lives there and stuff, but on the flip side there's at least two guys in my local club, a 3rd gen and a 4th gen, that are both trying to make time to come. I expect we'll pick up a few more here and there as we get closer to time.

So we are just squeeking by the 8 person min.--hope everyone can come. This is the first time I've noticed the question mark after my tire size--yes, they are 35's, and no, I won't be going any bigger with the new meats. With what you mentioned about Ziggs, I know if I was him, I'd come and camp anyway--that's going to be half the fun. If you guys were coming to the Black Hills (another pretty cool destination, by the way), I'd definitely be out there with all my gear, and would only go home for any forgotten items.

On a side note, my brother pulled something for me to check out, knowing I will be wanting an onboard air source soon--anyone familiar with Kleinn compressors? They seem to usually be associated with air horn systems, but they have one that's 100% duty cycle, complete with separate 2-gal. tank, air-up hose and fittings, and various other goodies, for around the $400 mark. I'll be passing myself, because the ARB I want has much higher volume, which is extremely important both for airing up larger tires and for larger air tools (I intend to eventually have a 1/2" impact plus other tools with me), but for those who don't need all that capability, it might be an option to check out.
