Classics go to Moab?

Unfortunately, I still won't be able to go. I wasn't planning on going since I was originally going to be in school. I didn't set aside any money for it and there isn't any free money in the budget right now. I want to go but it's just not possible. :happens:

If we can plan a trip for the spring time then I'll definitely be able to go.

That's the sh!ttiest excuse ever. You've got a month to scrape up a couple hundred bucks, and you're not gonna do it?

Yeah man you got to figure out how to make this work. Hell my plan is to sell my 4Runner when I get back just to cover the cost of the trip. I know you aren't going to do that, but there has to be something that you can do to make it.

If it was possible, I would make it there. I would love to have a wheeling trip in Moab but I have other financial priorities. I will miss everyone though!

SV doesn't like us anymore. :(

I love each and every one of you... mostly :flipoff:

I think it is officially time to post this in the General Threads. I know a lot of the guys check all the sections of T4R.org but in case there are a few that would like to join us we should get the word out as best we can in this last month.

BTW......30 days from now I will be in MOAB Baby!!!!!!!!:bluejump:

I opened up the invite.

Hah, so did I. I reported the post to be merged with yours.

Point of order - we've only got reservations at the campground for the evenings of the 11th through the 14th...

ETA- but that's only 4 nights, and we've been planning on 5 huh? I'll see if I can change that.

I plan to call them this week to see if I can get in there early. If nothing else they should have a single spot open since I will be there on the 8th. Hell I'll sleep in a parking lot for the first couple of nights if I have to. It ain't like it would be the first time. Went to Big Bend back in the Spring and spent the first two nights in the rig. 1st night cause we drove all night and had to wait till they opened for out back country pass. Second night was a freak windstorm from a cold front moving out of the area that literally destroyed the camp and was blowing dust for 7 hours. Not fun with a 4 and 7 year old, but we persevered and had a blast the rest of the week.

Drove mine 10 hours to Kansas City and back with no issue and it has 243,000. You can do it!

For the record, H-M, there are plenty of camping areas that you could stay in solo, many of which are self-reporting/paying (they have a box that you leave your payment in), so it's unlikely that you couldn't find a spot if you go early. If I can swing it, I want to add a couple days also--I just need to see what the money situation is when October gets here.

i would feel better if i knew how many steep hill climbs there are on the way. thats the only issue i have since i have to sit at a pretty high rev to get up some when i go to pismo beach. 3 hour drive from my place

Where are you coming from, TT? If from the east, you will have some MONSTER climbs on the way, as the Continental Divide must be crossed, and I can attest that it is quite brutal on underpowered rigs--I visited Moab in my stock Runner with the 3.0, and I had it screaming for mercy through the mountains. If you're already clear of that, though, you may be fine--I'm not familiar with that side of the country. It would be great if you can make it--it's an area that truly must be experienced, and I think the comraderie will be topnotch with so many of similar mindsets. I will say this--that 3.0 rig I took out there before had over 200k on it as well, and it kept right on running for me long afterwards.

Yeah that's I have heard. I've never been out that way, but thankfully Al, the guy coming with me, has been a few times. If you end up out there early let me know. Since it looks like I am going to be out there first, I'm going to PM each of y'all my phone number in case someone needs some help on the way in and so we can all hook up once we get in.

Actually, if everyone wants to email me with their contact info, I'll throw together a little contact sheet so everyone can have a list in their rig for the drive in. Please list where you are coming from and what day you are traveling in so I can break it down by routes and dates traveled. That way if someone needs some assistance you will have a good idea if someone is coming that same way that day. michael dot R dot scott1 (at) gmail
