Classics go to Moab?

I've been there many times but you guys still suck.

Agreed! I want to go but it's not possible for me on this trip. On the flip side, I'm not too terribly upset because I live about half an hour from some of the best wheeling in the country.

True, but it is not Moab. I leave in about 29 hours!!! Damn I can't wait!

well, I'm out. i picked up some engine noise outside price, and it seized while limping it to a shop. scoped the cylinders and it looks like a.chunk missing from piston three.

y'all are gonna have to have fun without me.

KidV... That SUCKS!!! Let us know how the engine goes. If you ever want to make it up to Colorado for some wheeling with myself and FoG, you'll have a place to stay at my house.

Well that sucks! So very sorry to hear this, Kevin--I know how much you were looking forward to this trip. I know I'm frustrated beyond words at my own situation, so I have a good idea what you feel like. Best of luck on the repairs!

Dude that sucks!!!!! I was looking forward to towing you around and winching you out of tight spots. Take care of your self and hopefully you can get Stumpy back up and running soon.

Kind of getting a good laugh at this.

So on the trail Helo decides to snap an idler arm.

Now the group is busting out the GPS and compasses because they are lost on Hell's Revenge after dark.

I'm leaving early tomorrow. Looks like I may have to pick up parts on the way. Off to an entertaining start and I'll be joining the fun soon.

Oh and the third gen guy that Helo picked up on the way has busted CV's. We may have to change those out there as well if he decides to stay.

Yeah, Helo texted me and said he was busted on hells. It's a big drag, I have a spare idler in the back of my truck right now.

I'm home safe, by the way. Ran into a fully awesome mobile mechanic who strapped me to his shop, let me use his tools and his garage bay to tear into the engine, and let me borrow his flatbed trailer to get the truck back to Salt Lake, and didn't want to charge me anything. Needless to say, that didn't stand. If you need a mechanic in Price or Moab, you need to call Jay. I have his number, and can't recommend this fellow highly enough.

I'll be honest, there was about 5 to 10 min were I was glad that I had 4 MREs , water, fire logs, a sleeping bag and a tarp for a lean to.

Glad you made it back Kid. Idler arm in your box aside. I wish you wouldn't have had your problems and made it out here.

You guys all realize this thread is probably making the 4th and 5th Gen guys (with their much newer rigs) giggle at our "wealth" of mechanical issues recently (where their parts are a few years and many trail-rides away from breaking). Oh well, I guess that's the price for being much more willing to take our "classics" far off the beaten track and pound the crap out of them. They'll be dealing with these hassles soon enough, huh!

Me too, I was looking forward to meeting you all.

The campground has my credit card number as deposit. Will somebody do me a favor and let them know that I'm not going to make it and pull that card off the reservation?

Here's a little something for you guys that didn't come. :roadkill:

Last one and I've got to go to bed. Got to go rescue the 4Runner from the trail.
