Cleaned TB and IAC - What I noticed

First, just got my Blue Driver OBD2 scanner, updated it, plugged it in and
0 codes. Not a thing. I love Toyota!

Pulled off the intake and TB and IAC. 1999 v6 4wd, 182k miles. I've had it for almost 5 years and put 40k on it.

The TB was DIRTY. I used an entire can of TB spray and barely scrubbed it clean with that. I also pulled the IAC off, which appears to be factory original. Didn't look too bad but cleaned it anyways.

What I noticed is a stronger idle, stronger shutdown of the engine - much smoother. And also smoother acceleration - this is subtle, The idle and shutdown are very noticeable.

I've ordered the champion 3 pass aluminum radiator. Doing mild stuff before I pick up a Magnuson SC with the base pulley.

There are at least 2 youtube videos out there too, one from Timmy and one from sleepydad (IIRC) showing you everything you need to know.

It's Mostly bolt-on, depends on your specific truck (and maybe the specific radiator) as to how much, or little, modification is needed. Mine needed 2 tabs cut off, took maybe 15 seconds with a hacksaw and done.

SUPPOSED to be a direct bolt on but from what I understand, it's "close".

The fan shroud doesn't fit perfectly and must be either bent slightly or -

Inside the bolt flanges for the fan shroud are tapped in threads, I know at least one guy who removed those to get the fan shroud lined up.

the mounts for the radiator apparently aren't perfect either but will a little mod with a Dremel ends up working

i am aware champion makes a radiator that says its for a 4runner. when i searched last time i couldnt tell if it was a direct bolt on or if it needed to be modded. i even wrote them and i never heard back.

i have not seem tim's video. i will look for it. thank you.

It's supposed to be a direct bolt on, but some people have said that the bolt holes don't line up with the captured nuts for installation requiring you modification. I don't have one so this is just what I remember reading about it with no first hand experience.
