you have a sunroof, right?

as I do not KNOW for sure, im going to GUESS its a sunroof drain hose.

I do indeed have a sunroof. But, the hose is just hanging there. Would that cause rust in the compartment?

No it's not. Pull apart the interior panels and you will see the clear hose run toward the sunroof for drainage. It may appear it's not connected to anything. Mine is "loose" and has some play. Anyway, the hose empties toward the rear wheel well.

Interesting, I always thought it was the feed line for the rear window washer fluid

There's definately a feed line for the rear washer (somewhere), but the clear hose the OP is mentioning is too thick for that....... Jeez, never thought to where the washer fluid line is.

It is the sunroof drain line. Should have 4 I'm guessing just like the 3rd gens.

Not sure on my 4th gen but on my 3rd gen the washer line runs down the passenger side floor to the back wheel well and then goes over the storage compartment, up the rear corner and then over to the door.

Opened up the passenger side the other day and saw the feed. Thought of this thread and took a pic. So yeah, passenger side is where the rear washer feed is located.

Interesting, so does it end up just dangling in space like the driver side? Don't tear things apart to check, just asking.

Talking about the sunroof drain? I doubt it's just "dangling" there, if the rear washer feed is any indication, there is some tension in it. Rear (cargo area) driver's side panel you will see the drain tube. I remember it just "hanging" there. I can check.............. it's really no problem

The drain hose just dumps out under your car.

He is talking about that clear hose that runs over the black gas filler neck. You can see it to the right of the multi-color spaghetti in my picture.

Actually, no need.

Your pic got me curious so I went out and took another look. The clear hose was not plugged into the black rubber hose and it took your pic to clue me in to what to look for.

The black hose is there, just flipped away so it was not visibly associated with the clear hose. It is now.

Glad you got it figured out man! Makes you wonder how or why it was disconnected from that black piece in the first place huh?

No kidding. Always bugged me the thing has been dumping water in there for who knows how long. But then, don't know how much water gets into those drains. Would not have know it was like this other than working to make sure they were clear and not being able to find the drain up at the sunroof.
