Clearance Light Mod

So to start this off, I want to give a brief background as to why I did this modification....

Little brother has a Ford Raptor and I really like the "baja" look and the clearance lights they come with to help break up the massive amount of black on the grille area. Since I built my front bumper and painted it black along with my grille, I figured I would do the same, try this out and break up the space a little bit. I want to say I've seen similar mods up on Instagram (I'm porschefiend feel free to follow.. cough cough cough) with Tacoma's but this one is mine! Pretty simple mod, took me about 30 minutes to complete, start to finish.

I got all 3 lights from O'Reilly's for $20.
Wired them (in series) into the top indicators placed in the headlights.

Anyways, I figured I'd just keep y'all updated on what's going on with my ongoing build!

Yellow LED cubes for foglights and LED strip turn signals coming in Friday to be built/installed!!!

I actually like those! I wasn't sure how it was going to look but it looks much better further away. I like your front bumper too, you have a nice setup!

Me too- I was going to go with regular trailer clearance lights that were more of a rectangle shape, but Im glad I saw these. Our fat upper horizontal bar on the grille protrudes a bit and is hollow, so it was easy to center the lights and run the wires!

I was also concerned that they would be way too bright, but the single diodes aren't that bright at all.

Yea you did good, just bright enough.

With the grill being on the hood how did you wire them? Did you run the wiring down the hood to the hinges then up to the headlights?

BTW I am a huge Porsche enthusiast. I was a Porsche technician for 4 years. I really miss driving those cars everyday

sorry for the late reply lol. Wired them in series, then ran the wires behind the heat shield on the hood then along the fenders to the headlights.

AWESOME! Been building a few 356's and 911 Targas lately. The shop is slowing down though so Im looking to move to a new area and pick up Porsche again haha. Had the privilege of working on a 550-01, RSK, a few 908's and an Abarth/Carrera GTL not too long ago. I got the vintage race car bug (never curable) and thats all I want to do now haha.
