clicking noise everytime I release the brake

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if some of of you notice this problem. When I hit on the brakes, it seems to be okay, but once I let the pedal go, there are clicking noise coming for the front wheel (I hear it from the right side). is this normal? Or is the one of the calipers not functioning properly?

I had a clicking noise when I would slightly press in the brake but not when I would depress it. I took it to the dealer and the first time they resurfaced all my rotors and replaced my pads. It went away for about 3 months then came back. The second time they replaced my rear rotors saying they were warped. Hasn't come back yet but its only been a month so far...

I once had a clicking noise when I depressed the brake pedal on my Subaru Legacy. I took it to my local mechanic, and it turned out to be the "shift-lock" solenoid or switch that was making noise.

This is the feature that does not allow the transmission to be shifted from the "Park" position unless the brake pedal is depressed. He said not to worry about it, and after a few weeks, the noise went away.

He didn't charge me anything, either....

I don't know whether this is your problem, but it just goes to show that I guess it could be a lot of things causing the noise, and hopefully it will be something minor like this.

Could be the brake pads shifting or moving. Very common with aftermarket pads. A little brake pad grease on the back of the pads will stop it.
