climate control lights inop

hello,
new to the forum.
i just picked up a 99 4 runner and the climate control lights don't work. is this a fuse or are the bulbs out?
how easy is it to access them?

It's just the lamps.

It shouldn't take too long to get to them. I think I read that one member said it took him 15 mins to get the entire front dash out. I think all you have to do is unscrew all those screws you see in the front of your dash.

that looks like fun. my 4 is not a ltd so i only need the bulbs that back light the control; should be the same deal roughly

its easy to get to but you need to save the green socks on the stock bulbs or else you will have clear lights there and everything else will be that green color. its easy to get to just pull off all the ac nobs then take the ac button out then take then that panel there are two screws behind it. take those out then that whole panel will snap out

you mean after i remove the lower console, wood trim etc? or are you saying i can just pop the ac controls off and get to the bulbs w/ out the procedure in the link?

yeah if you do it that way you will not have to remove much just the knobs and plastic peace

This thread is a bit old so not sure you'll see this. I have a 99 Limited as well and the light behind the AC indicator is out. Wondering how difficult it was to replace it. Thanks!
