Climate Control Panel Backlight

Is the LCD display on a 2007 4Runner supposed to stay on once I turn the car off and shut the door? My battery died a couple days ago, granted it was 3 years old, but now I’ve started to notice that the display that shows the time and gas mileage stays orange when I turn the car off. When I peek in the window it only shows the time but I want to know if that could be drawing power still and causing damage to my battery?

No, everything should be off. BUT that screen will stay on in ACC mode so maybe someone modded the wiring to leave ACC on after car is turned off. Check if your cigarette lighters (one in the front and one in the trunk) are still on after you turn the car off. Those are on the ACC. There could be a power draw from one of those.

Yo Jake I really hope you see this.

Did you happen to figure out what went wrong or how to fix it? My car just started doing the same thing and as we speak my battery is dead. Hoping you found a solution.

The member you quoted hasn't been back on he forum since he posted that almost 1 1/2 years ago, you most likely won't get a reply from him.
