Clock and dash lights cut in and out

I'm about to order up some LEDs for a dash light bulb swap. However, I've noticed that my dash clock cuts out at times, but it does so along with what seems to be the right bulb behind the instruments.

If I give a brisk tap with my hand to the dash near the clock, both lights eill come back on. Is my dash going out the way most of them do, or is that more of a total failure? Could the clock and the other light be related?

Just thought I'd ask before tearing it apart.
