This one took me forever to get started. I tried contacting Excide, they expressed NO interest in this. I contacted Optima and they pretty much ignored my constant requests for a discount. I couldn't get a vendor to provide discounts on Odyssey.


Northstar, on the other hand replied and directed me to a distributor that's more than willing to work with me with this one.

And those taking part in this...MAKE SURE you get the one with the right terminals. When I ordered mine from a previous GB I assumed it would be the same as stock. Well the posts were flipped and I had to do some major customizing to wiring and posts to get it to fit and not hit the hood. So make sure the model # you get dictates the positive is on the left, negative on the right (looking down at battery from front bumper) like stock. Cheers. Love my battery otherwise!!!

31 vs 34

I read a lot of the other threads on this with no real conclusion.

If I go with the 31, then are there any advantages of going with the dual-post with a 3 year warranty over the single post with a 4 year warranty?

I'll probably add a portable jump starter and Yeti 400 or 1000 when the fridge is running for a longer period of time juuuust in case. What do you guys think? Pros/Cons?

FYI...to not confuse others as I saw your post in the other thread, I went dual post. Glad I did as like I said the posts were on the wrong side and if you notice in the links the posts are more towards the front of the battery. So since I had to switch it around I couldn't use the main posts. I used the secondary posts to put my wires on to. The thing is while those look like the right side it will hit the hood in that orientation on the website as the posts are too far forward. You would have to turn the battery around to clear which then puts the posts on the wrong side of stock wiring. Now, I don't know if they offer a reverse set up so the posts are more towards the back of the battery and positive post is on the pass(left side). I'd have to look at my battery to tell you what model I got.

Personally I always go with the 'M' marine models to get the extra posts. I find it easier to attach stuff to the threaded stud rather than deal with the standard lead posts. Lots of guys prefer the standard posts in case they have issues in the field or just prefer to keep it all standard. I don't get that, but whatever, seems like threaded stud posts are easier to me, to each his own.

The one year less warranty sucks.....I always thought it was the other way around. 4 years for the marine battery and 3 years on the standard battery, but I checked with your links and you are correct. Other than the price and the warranty every thing else looks the same except the height of the marine battery is 1/2 higher than the standard.
